Ground investigations to establish the site constraints and cost impact prior to the construction of a residential redevelopment.
Mixed Use Regeneration - North West
The 4.73 acre site in Northwich Town Centre is the location for a major regeneration scheme, with aspirations for predominantly residential redevelopment.
The purpose of Curtins’ ground investigations was to establish the site constraints and the subsequent cost impact of these. In particular, it was a key priority of Cheshire West & Chester Council for the quantification of risk in relation to future subsidence, given the brine mining history of the local area.
The brownfield site presented various site constraints through the site’s former use as a gas works.
We undertook a Ground Investigation and risk assessment into the presence of voids within the Upper Halite deposits, to determine the risk of subsidence from historical brine pumping works.
