Project Overview
The site extends to circa 4.73 acres and is located in Northwich Town Centre. The site is a major regeneration opportunity with an aspiration to provide predominantly residential lead redevelopment.
The purpose of the ground investigations was to establish the site constraints and the subsequent cost impact of these. In particular, it was a key priority of Cheshire West & Chester Council for the quantification of risk in relation to future subsidence given the brine mining history of the local area.
The Challenge
The brownfield site presented various site constraints
Our Solution
Ground Investigation of former Gas Works and risk assessments were undertaken into voids within the Upper Halite deposits concerning historical brine pumping works.
