Project Overview
After three years of continuous involvement between our civils, structures, transport planning and geotechnical teams, this inner-city Enterprise Data Centre on Bidder Street in the Borough of Newham received a successful planning outcome at the close of 2024.
Designed by TTSP and Foster + Partners for sineQN and their development/funding partners Legal & General and Goldacre, the 80MW £750M investment project will be a catalyst for a new digital quarter in the Cody Triangle.
Key to the planning approval was the project’s innovative approach to harnessing decarbonised residual heat to provide heat for up to 13,000 homes and businesses in the local area.
The highly sustainable development will also reuse or recycle 95% of waste, whilst sourcing low-carbon recycled materials for construction.
With the support of our Transport Planning team, the project will provide significant improvements to the public realm, pedestrian and cycle routes, and help deliver the new Mayer Parry Bridge connecting Newham and Tower Hamlets.
We look forward to progressing the scheme and East London regeneration alongside the experienced design team.

The Challenge
Securing planning for this city centre project adjacent to the iconic Canary Wharf was to be a challenge.
Our Solution
We have brought significant engineering experience from other projects, that have included high vibration criteria, complex drainage systems, MMC and offsite construction, carbon reduction and tall building requirements, as well as pre-planning services to secure the green light for this multistorey Data Centre.
Our structural engineering team have delivered high calibre design with consideration of the heavy loads on almost every floor of the 70m tall facility.
