Project Overview
The scheme consists of a 180 bed hotel, restaurants, bar, conferencing facilities and associated back of house areas, with an approximate gross area of 14,565m2. The site currently used as farm. The completed development provides, in addition to the hotel, an 18 hole championship golf course, golf clubhouse, 10 lodges for holiday lets and 160 houses.
The full development is expected to generate more than 300 full and part-time jobs, with a further 130 full-time equivalent posts and 285 additional employment positions during the construction and development phase.
The Challenge
We were asked to provide a potential solution that would reduce construction time.
Our Solution
Traditional construction was initially proposed by the contractor for robustness and acoustics. We proposed a Modern Method of Construction offsite precast solution to minimise wall thicknesses, speed up the construction and minimise waste.
