At Curtins we take pride in fulfilling our obligations to be a good corporate citizen, not just for our people, but the wider society. We recognise that in our industry we have a critical role, and opportunity, in making a positive impact for the clients and communities in which we work, and by making informed choices and conscious designs, we strive towards achieving this goal.
We are committed to operating in an efficient and environmentally sensitive manner, both in the work we do and how we do it.
We continually develop and improve our ISO14001 accredited policy and systems through action plans and real time management of data.
Equally, when it comes to providing engineering services for our clients, we’re as keen to promote low carbon solutions. We will help our clients to consider the carbon impact of concept design solutions using our bespoke Carbon Toolkit and Carbon Database, so that they can make an informed and sustainable design decisions.
Commercial organisations such as ours have the ability to support and promote community engagement, and we fully embrace this responsibility. We engage with our local communities, collaborate with others and work with schools and universities to enrich the world around us and leave a lasting legacy.
We actively engage and encourage our staff to make a difference through an in-house Charity initiative; Curtins Care. It’s our aim, acting as a frontline ambassador within the engineering sector, to focus on those less fortunate and to build bridges between cultures and communities, creating a better environment for all.
As a company, we select a charity of the year to partner with. Through this we have supported over 35 charities to date and raised more than £110,000 since 2018 for our charity partners.
Our founder believed in creating opportunities for everyone and his belief resonates with us today. We have been signatories to the Social Mobility Pledge since 2019, which means that as a business, we help to guide what we feel the Government needs to do and find out how we can support their actions in order to improve social mobility in the UK.
We embrace diversity and welcome diverse thoughts and lived perspectives in our team. We recognise the importance of achieving equity amongst our people and enabling individuals to reach their full potential by understanding and helping overcome barriers to their development. Our Success for All commitment runs through all our actions and continues to guide our evolving approaches to DEI, ensuring our people are able to bring their true selves to work, develop with us, their voices are heard and they help to shape our future.

Our CEO Rob Melling and Director of Communications Rhiannon Carss visited Westminster last week to launch the Breaking Down Barriers Commission with Justine Greening and Nick Forbes CBE .
As National Careers Week concludes on International Women's Day, we reflect on how these two events are so linked together for Curtins, and share a video about Our Place.
