Leaving a Lasting Legacy
At Curtins we take pride in fulfilling our obligations to be a good corporate citizen, not just for our people, but the wider society. We recognise that in our industry we have a critical role, and opportunity, in making a positive impact for the clients and communities in which we work, and by making informed choices and conscious designs, we strive towards achieving this goal.
Since 2024, we have partnered with the Purpose Coalition to drive impactful change. Our Impact Report highlights Curtins’ commitment to fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable society by leveraging our engineering expertise to create real change across the UK. READ MORE.

Environment
We are committed to operating in an efficient and environmentally sensitive manner, both in the work we do and how we do it.
We continually develop and improve our ISO14001 accredited policy and systems through action plans and real time management of data.
Equally, when it comes to providing engineering services for our clients, we’re as keen to promote low carbon solutions. We will help our clients to consider the carbon impact of concept design solutions using our bespoke Carbon Toolkit and Carbon Database, so that they can make an informed and sustainable design decisions.

Social
Commercial organisations such as ours have the ability to support and promote community engagement, and we fully embrace this responsibility. We engage with our local communities, collaborate with others and work with schools and universities to enrich the world around us and leave a lasting legacy.
Curtins Care
At Curtins, we actively engage and encourage our staff to make a difference through our in-house charity initiative, Curtins Care. As frontline ambassadors within the engineering sector, our aim is to focus on those less fortunate and to build bridges between cultures and communities, creating a better environment for all.
Curtins Care was launched over 15 years ago, and since then, we have partnered with a different charity each year (always chosen by our staff) to support them through awareness, volunteering and fundraising.
Throughout the year, we champion the charity in any way we can; hosting national and local activities across our 14 offices, including raffles, lodge donations, marathons boat races, and enabling staff to use up to two allocated days towards fundraising and volunteering outside of the office.
Whether it’s getting stuck into a Tough Mudder challenge, taking part in litter picks or volunteering at shelters, our people are dedicated to making a meaningful difference to our communities. In recent years, we have partnered with the following charities, raising more than £100,000 in total:
2018: £24,234 - British Heart Foundation
2019: £34,150 - Marie Curie
2020: £5,842 - Samaritans
2021: £10,690 - Samaritans
2022: £18,672 - Cancer Research
2023: £16,000 - Alzheimer's Research
2024: NSPCC
2025: Alzheimer's Research

Charity days per person
To date, we have supported over 35 charities and raised more than £110,000 since 2018 for our charity partners. We look forward to raising even more for these brilliant causes.
Additionally, we offer our staff paid volunteering days, where they can take a day out of their usual work schedule to volunteer with a charity of their choice, this gives them a hands-on experience of making a real difference in their community.

Governance
Our founder believed in creating opportunities for everyone and his belief resonates with us today. We have been signatories to the Social Mobility Pledge since 2019, which means that as a business, we help to guide what we feel the Government needs to do and find out how we can support their actions in order to improve social mobility in the UK.
We embrace diversity and welcome diverse thoughts and lived perspectives in our team. We recognise the importance of achieving equity amongst our people and enabling individuals to reach their full potential by understanding and helping overcome barriers to their development. Our Success for All commitment runs through all our actions and continues to guide our evolving approaches to DEI, ensuring our people are able to bring their true selves to work, develop with us, their voices are heard and they help to shape our future.
