- Event: Low Carbon Cumbria - Construction Spotlight
28th November, 8.30am
North Lakes Hotel, Penrith
In partnership with Lake District National Park Authority, Zero Carbon Cumbria and Curtins, this breakfast event will discuss how carbon reduction can be achieved within Cumbria’s construction industry, and explore the particular challenges faced for developments in protected areas looking to achieve net zero carbon.
Join invited guests for breakfast and networking, three insightful presentations, and panel discussions with Morgan Sindall Construction, The Rebuild Site, Lakes College and Cumbria Action for Sustainability exploring topics on Decarbonisation and Skills.
Curtins will set the scene on the current carbon impact of the construction industry and provide best practice approaches to low carbon civil and structural design, with a focus on retrofitting existing buildings.
Lake District National Park Authority will share their expertise on the reuse of historic buildings to reduce carbon and protect our county’s great UNESCO World Heritage.
We are pleased to also welcome Zero Carbon Cumbria to introduce the important work they are facilitating to support the county’s ambition to achieve Net Zero by 2037.
To conclude, we'll invite our panellists and speakers up to explore Decarbonisation and Skills across two panel discussions.
