Project Overview
This has been an exciting project for us. We've been providing engineering input for the £77m Carlisle Citadels scheme. The project involves the redevelopment of the city centre site, designed to revitalise Carlisle, attract more people of working age and contribute to improving productivity.
The site included demolition and refurbishment works of the Citadel buildings which are some of the most iconic and historic Grade 1 Listed buildings in Carlisle, built in the 16th century, along with significant archaeology. Our team have been working with the project archaeologist to devise a GI solution that could be implemented without adversely affecting the archaeological remains on the site.
